Skynet is a network of robotic telescope observatories that can be accessed by learners, professionals and the public. Their main operations are run from the University of North Carolina. The National Science Foundation and NASA are the network’s primary funders. In order to gain access to the network usually you must be attending one of their associated institutions or programs. However, if you have completed their self-paced, tuition-free Astronomy course through Skynet University you may not only gain valuable university-level knowledge, but also access to Skynet’s telescope network! With over twenty telescope sites, Skynet is a large network making it an incredible resource for making astronomical observations.
